Oklahoma’s contribution to the national defense is felt every day — in the service members stationed here, the families who support them, the civilian workforce that keeps installations running, and the communities that have built their economies around serving the mission.
Senator Armstrong is committed to strengthening Oklahoma’s military footprint and making sure the federal government follows through for the men and women who serve. That means supporting Tinker Air Force Base, Fort Sill, Altus Air Force Base, Vance Air Force Base, the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, and the defense and aerospace employers that help keep America ready.
These installations are not just lines on a federal budget. They are part of Oklahoma’s economy, identity, and service tradition — and they are essential to America’s military readiness.
The Permitting Connection
Energy security is national security.
Modern defense runs on things the country has to be able to build at home — munitions lines, critical-mineral processing, aluminum and primary metals, and the reliable energy to power all of it. When the federal government can’t permit and build that capacity, the country grows dependent on adversaries for the materials its own security depends on. That is why the Senator’s permitting-reform priority and a strong national defense are the same fight: an industrial base you can’t build is an industrial base you don’t have.
The Bigger Picture
A strong Oklahoma means a strong America.
So the Senator’s job, the way he sees it, is straightforward: make sure Washington holds up its end. That means protecting and growing those missions, backing the aerospace and defense work that has grown up around them, and keeping faith with the service members, military families, and veterans who carry the load — from the readiness of the bases to the casework that gets a single family through the federal system. Keeping Oklahoma’s part of that bargain strong is the work.
