Agriculture is not an abstract policy issue in Oklahoma. It is family farms, cattle operations, co-ops, grain elevators, rural electric systems, water districts, and small towns that help feed and fuel the country.
Senator Armstrong is focused on making sure Washington works for rural Oklahoma — not against it. That means protecting market access for producers, strengthening rural infrastructure, expanding reliable broadband, supporting water and utility projects, and cutting through federal red tape that makes it harder to keep family operations running.
Where We’re Focused
Water, utilities, and the basic infrastructure rural communities depend on.
In many rural communities, the most important federal work is also the least flashy: water systems, wastewater upgrades, electric reliability, broadband, rural development financing, and direct support for small towns that do not have large staffs to chase federal programs.
Senator Armstrong’s office works to make sure Oklahoma communities can access the tools already available to them — and that federal agencies understand the real-world consequences when delays, paperwork, or one-size-fits-all rules stand in the way.
The Permitting Connection
Permitting reform is a rural issue, too.
Farming runs on energy — diesel in the equipment, natural gas behind the fertilizer, propane for grain drying, power for the irrigation pump. When energy infrastructure is hard to build, those input costs climb, and they land on producers first. Getting Oklahoma’s grain, cattle, and crude to market depends on the same pipelines, rail, and roads a broken permitting system holds up. The Senator’s permitting-reform priority isn’t separate from rural Oklahoma — it’s one of the biggest levers Washington has to lower costs for the people who feed the country.
