Oklahoma is home to thirty-nine federally recognized tribes — one of the largest concentrations in the country. Tribal Nations are not only a vital part of Oklahoma’s history; they are major employers, infrastructure partners, health care providers, public safety partners, and economic drivers across the state.
Senator Armstrong approaches tribal issues from a simple premise: the federal government has a responsibility to respect tribal sovereignty and work with Tribal Nations on a government-to-government basis. That relationship should be practical, consistent, and focused on results.
The goal is not symbolic partnership. It is a working relationship that helps solve real problems — from infrastructure and water needs to public safety, health care, economic development, and federal agency coordination.

The office works with Tribal Nations on the federal issues that affect daily life in Oklahoma: land and water matters, infrastructure investment, health care, public safety, transportation, economic development, appropriations, and agency responsiveness.
Senator Armstrong’s focus is on making sure the federal government keeps its commitments, respects the government-to-government relationship, and works in a way that produces durable, real-world results for tribal communities and the state as a whole.
